Praise the Lord.

i am obviously horrible in regards to updating.
finding myself busy with school and intern. sigh.
came back from retreat this past weekend and
learned a great deal that was refreshing, awakening,
convicting.

here are some things learned.
went through the book of Jonah.
(who knew the book of Jonah would be the way it is!)

FOILS of Jonah

-Sailors
Jonah 1, 16" At this the men greatly feared the
LORD, and they offered a sacrifice to the
LORD and made vows to him."

-Fish
Jonah 3,10" And the LORD commanded the fish,
and it vomited Jonah onto dry land."

-Ninevites
Jonah 3, 5 "The Ninevites believed God. They
declared a fast, and all of them, from the
greatest to the least, put on sackcloth."

Jonah 4, ends in a cliffhanger and Jonah
becomes the foil for us. He was too committed
to his possessions and not to God. And the
question of whether we will be like him or
like the sailor/fish/Ninevites arises.
