to those who are .. . ..

"discouraged, defeated, ashamed, restless"

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Actively hope in the Lord. Do not cling to the old ways as you step into the new year, His mercies are new every morning, the old has gone and the new has come.

1. blessed blessed blessed.. is what i've been feeling lately.
2. freely give what was freely given.
3. His ways are higher and far better than mine. He humbles the proud.

Daniel 4:37
Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.

Living out the faith even though it can get uncomfortable, but knowing that He is already working, that His ways are better than mind, that it is He who humbles the proud. That others may see my God is Lord over all, and exalt/praise Him for He is worthy.

5.27.13

Hello to..

new beginnings+chapters in life.

time flies. people age. people come and go.

Congrats to the new beautiful bride, and dear sis.

Living with her the past 5 years, I've come to truly see and learn the fruits of the Spirit -love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control

Being the youngest, although I like to be independent, has its perks. aka. to be cared for.

thankful for the dual cleaning-laundry, times I came home late/famished from work with dinner all made/set, worried txts and calls, being my barista, watching scary shows together, and always just being there.

Changes in life are always bittersweet, but am excited for all that's to come.

Ecclesiastes

Reading t h r o u g h Ecclesiastes.
Good reminder to seek the eternal instead of the ephemeral.

For.. theres no point in slaving away, working, trying to succeed.
For in the end we all have the same fate.
No one will remember you or what you did. No one will care.

So...

Love the Lord with all your heart and soul.
Share the good news, see Him change lives.
For the Holy Spirit is alive and living.
He is the same today, yesterday, and a bajillion years ago.

We live not by sight, but by faith.
He gives us hope even when all else seems to be failing.
The more you seek, the more you will find, and the more you will love.

Christianity affirms that Jesus severed the link between suffering and deserving once for all on Calvary. God put the ledgers away and settled the accounts. The good news of the gospel is NOT that good people get good stuff. It's not that life is cyclical and that "what comes around goes around." Rather, it's that the bad get the best, the worst inherit the wealth, and the slave becomes a son (Rom.5:8).

The more I seek you,
The more I find you
The more I find you, the more I love you

I wanna sit at your feet
Drink from the cup in your hand.
Lay back against you and breath, feel your heart beat
This love is so deep, it's more than I can stand.
I melt in your peace, it's overwhelming

if you know me. you know that i walk around a bit carelessly.
maybe a little too careless.
today as i was walking to the subway to go home from work,
i almost got hit by a car,
my co-worker gave a shout and pulled me towards the sidewalk.
she was pretty frightened but i was pretty nonchalant
and she was surprised and remarked at my calmness.
truthfully, i didn't think much of it.
i think that's when i realized i need to be more careful.
there are countless moments when im with friends, people, even visitors
and almost get ourselves run over.
i'm not afraid at moments like that.
thinking im superman or something.
that cars will stop and avoid me.
that God wont let a car hit me.
but must be alert.now.

When I come into the very presence of God, I do not realize that I am a sinner in an indefinite sense, but I suddenly realize and the focus of my attention is directed toward the concentration of sin in a particular area of my life. A person will easily say, “Oh yes, I know I am a sinner,” but when he comes into the presence of God he cannot get away with such a broad and indefinite statement. Our conviction is focused on our specific sin, and we realize, as Isaiah did, what we really are. This is always the sign that a person is in the presence of God. There is never any vague sense of sin, but a focusing on the concentration of sin in some specific, personal area of life. God begins by convicting us of the very thing to which His Spirit has directed our mind’s attention. If we will surrender, submitting to His conviction of that particular sin, He will lead us down to where He can reveal the vast underlying nature of sin. That is the way God always deals with us when we are consciously aware of His presence.

This experience of our attention being directed to our concentration of personal sin is true in everyone’s life, from the greatest of saints to the worst of sinners. When a person first begins climbing the ladder of experience, he might say, “I don’t know where I’ve gone wrong,” but the Spirit of God will point out some definite and specific thing to him. The effect of Isaiah’s vision of the holiness of the Lord was the directing of his attention to the fact that he was “a man of unclean lips.” “He touched my mouth with it, and said: ’Behold, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged’ ” (Isaiah 6:7). The cleansing fire had to be applied where the sin had been concentrated.
